Japanese city sizzles at highest recorded temperature of 41.1 deg C

TOKYO (REUTERS, AFP) – The record for the highest-ever recorded temperature in Japan was broken Monday (July 23) after the mercury hit 41.1 degree Celsius in Kumagaya city, Japan’s meteorological agency said, as the nation continued to be gripped by a heatwave.
