Xi praises a student protest in China that took place 100 years ago

BEIJING (NYTIMES) – One hundred years after thousands of Chinese students marched on Tiananmen Square in a watershed revolt, President Xi Jinping was expected on Tuesday (April 30) to use the memory of the protest to burnish his brand of authoritarian nationalism.
