State of emergency declared in Papua New Guinea after major quake

SYDNEY (AFP) – A state of emergency has been declared in Papua New Guinea’s remote highlands after a major earthquake shook the region in what Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said was an “unprecedented disaster” for local communities.
