Heavy fighting as Taleban attack western Afghan city

HERAT, AFGHANISTAN (AFP) – Heavy fighting has broken out in the western Afghan city of Farah after the Taleban launched a major offensive overnight to capture the restive capital of Farah province, with residents reporting air strikes, explosions and gunfire.
