Vietnam’s reformist ex-PM Phan Van Khai dies at age 85

HANOI (AFP) – Former Vietnamese premier Phan Van Khai, who helped strengthen ties with the United States and drive market reforms that ignited the communist country’s economy, died on Saturday (March 17) at the age 85, the government said.
