China’s trade surplus with US hits record US$31 billion in August despite tariffs

BEIJING (AFP) – China’s trade surplus with the United States ballooned to a new record US$31 billion (S$42.75 billion) in August, rising 18.7 per cent despite a raft of US tariffs imposed over the summer, official data showed Saturday (Sept 8).
